Mind has power of attention, selection and rejection; it is indecisive in nature. It is empowered by small self called ego, the creator of ‘I’ feeling. Its motive is to gratify senses by deriving pleasures from the objects. It is king of senses.

Mind through our senses runs after objects to get pleasure and gratify senses. If the senses are delighted by the pleasure of one particular object then it longs for their repetition. If the desire is fulfilled it is called joy; if not it is called sorrow.

Mind is indecisive in nature, if it is left to act on its own; it keeps on moving from one object to another in search of pleasure. Its motive is to gratify senses. Mind is unable to discriminate the pleasure whether it is good or bad.

If we are able to capture the powers of mind, attention, selection and rejection, then we can command the mind to do what we need. It can be achieved by constant study on modifications of mind. For that we should practice to watch the behavior of mind in different situations, without attaching to mind.
